This Fire Safety Training course is designed to provide staff with additional responsibilities a deeper understanding of fire prevention, safety procedures, and the correct actions to take in the event of a fire. Accreditation & Qualification**

The HABC Level 2 Award in Fire Safety  is accredited by Ofqual and the Welsh Government and forms part of the national Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by Proskills, the Sector Skills Council for the process and manufacturing industry.

Legal Context – Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005**

Since October 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) has required employers, occupiers, and owners—the “responsible persons”—to take reasonable steps to reduce fire risks and ensure safe evacuation routes for employees and visitors.

Under the FSO, the responsible person must:

 Provide all employees with adequate fire safety training when they first join and whenever new or increased risks arise
 Appoint one or more competent persons to assist with fire safety management.
Ensure those appointed receive ongoing training to remain effective Conduct a fire risk assessment and maintain an appropriate fire management planWho the Law Applies To

The FSO applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, including shared areas of flats and HMOs. It covers:

 Employers and self-employed individuals with business premises
 Business owners and occupiers
Contractors with some control over premises
 Charities and voluntary organizations
Premises providing accommodation for paying guests
Any part of a dwelling used solely for business purposes
